eBook and Paperback Cover Designers for Self-Published Authors

Are you an indie author looking for a cover artist? Getting the right cover is VERY important. In regards to cover art, my theory is authors have less than one second to attract a reader. A poor cover can actually hurt your sales. Finding affordable cover work can be tough.

Below is a list of graphic designers who do cover art for ebook and print titles. Some of them also create ad banners, book trailers, website backgrounds, bookmarks and spiffs for conferences, etc… They are listed in no particular order. It’s best to look through many of the artists listed. Some do great work for horror, chick lit, romance, thrillers, fantasy, etc. Find the artist that fits your style.

I haven’t included any information regarding pricing since this can change and is often based on the complexity of the work.

ARTISTS- if I have listed your link here and you’d like to direct folks to another spot or would like to be removed, just let me know. If you would like to purchase ad space at the bottom of this post, please contact me. I get a fair number of views each week. It is a one-time fee (quite cheap too). I can be reached at JAScribbles @ g mail etc…  Please do not leave a comment listing your site or a link to your site.

Authors – If you come across an artist on my list that is no longer accepting clients please let me know. Thanks!!

Disclaimer – I am not personally endorsing any of the following artists.  Approach your agreement and working relationship the same as you would with any other online business deal. The artists listed here have not paid to be a part of this directory.

I’m not all that much for chick lit, but Jeff’s covers are great. (Come to think of it, I have liked movies such as You’ve Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle and When Harry Met Sally, so maybe I should read chick lit.)

Hi Mat! thanks for stopping by. I am reserving a copy of Off Leash for you. I just need to finish it up. :-)

Saw the link for this blog on Twitter. I’m looking for a designer for my next book so this has come at the right time!
    Cheers.

  3. Another option is crowdSPRING (www.crowdspring.com). You submit your propsal and several designers can submit designs. You can request changes through the process, so it’s iterative and competitive. You set the final price you want to pay. This option may cost less and give you a variety of designs to choose from.

  5. I can 100% recommend Syd Gill (www.sydgill.com). I sent her a near complete draft of G’Day LA and within two weeks she had a proof back that captured the book perfectly. And incredibly affordable…

Thanks for swinging by Tony. A lot of the time, cover designers will not have time to read a MS. You were lucky that Syd was able to. Congrats on the nice cover.
