It’s time to dig up more great songs.
I will start this post and just add to it. You can see this original one HERE. I thought that one was getting too long so I wanted to start something new.

Travelers Insurance tends to pick some very fun songs for their commercials. There is a new one playing where the cute white dog has lost his bone. He’s searching around for it. “My baby’s gone away.” So cute. That song is Gone by John Hiatt. You can listen to it and buy HERE.

There is another Kia commercial that has the sock monkey and the red bumpy guy driving around.
The song is Red Light Love by Those Darlins. It is the first song on this CD.

And you’ve all heard the funky song that is played during the Heineken Beer commercial. “Sing it out loud…” etc. There is a man doing gymnastics and goofy stuff at a party.
That song is The Golden Age by The Asteroids Galaxy Tour.

Last holiday season – or maybe even the year before – there was a jewelery commercial that showed a man and wife driving through the city streets. He reached out for her hand while they sat at a stoplight and he gives her a necklace. Sigh. It was his Christmas gift to her.
The song playing in the background is by Landon Pig – Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop. “I think that possibly maybe I’m falling for you…”

The is a kind of sad State Farm commercial that shows a run down house, or one that has gone through a fire. The female singing in the background is Natasha Bedingfield, and the song is Recover. “We will recover…” A nice choice for that kind of ad.

How about that bouncy song from the Lowe’s commercial. “I’ll wear your colors my dear.” The ad shows paint flowing through a town. It’s a fun song.
I bellieve that one is Colors by April Smith and The Great Picture Show.

The other night on Real Housewives of Atlanta Kandi Burruss hung out with Jo Dee Messina and wrote – country music!! Unbelievable. The song they worked on went something like “I won’t give up on you…”
OK – typing it doesn’t give it justice. I actually got goose bumps. Jo Dee’s voice is beautiful.
Well – the Internet says the song is due out early 2012. Hmm – I did some digging but can’t find it. There isn’t anything on Messina’s website that resembles the song.
What I did find was THIS SONG by Jason Mraz. Give the sample a listen and tell me if it isn’t the song Kandi wrote!
Did he buy the lyrics from her? Did Jo Dee decide not to produce it? I will investigate further and let you know.

What about the Special K granola bar commercial?
There is a lovely female voice singing “My heart skips a beat.”
That artist’s name is Lenka and here is the song. Take a listen to the entire CD. If you like this one song, you’ll enjoy all her music.
